An 80% scale replica of the Vietnam Wall makes its way to Innovation Park, Oct. 5-8, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, and the WPSU project The Vietnam War: Telling the Pennsylvania Story.

The installation will be free and open to the public 24-hours a day for the duration of the four-day event, starting at 12 p.m., Oct. 5, through 2:15 p.m., Oct. 8. Guests will have a chance to:

  • Reflect and honor all veterans
  • Observe opening and closing ceremonies, and musical tributes
  • Reserve ceremony times and commemoration space
  • Engage in education for secondary school and college students
  • Enjoy personal experiences with the memorial and interactions with Vietnam Veterans
  • Make rubbings of names and pay tribute by leaving personal mementos

Additionally, WPSU and other partners have provided:

  • WPSU documentary screenings of A Time to Heal
  • WPSU’s Story Corps recording studio
  • Vietnam War timeline and statistics display
  • Zippo Lighter war era lighter display

WPSU is looking for individual and group volunteers to help manage event activities, chaperone veteran families, look up memorial name locations at the computer station, event setup and disassembly and assist with parking and crowd management. If you're interested, sign up, here.
